“Slow Down among the larches.”
Where it is located
San Genesio, a small village above Bolzano. Until a few months ago, it could be reached by an old cableway, of which only a few old pylons now remain, in disuse. Today, it can be reached by car or bus, in just a few minutes from the town centre (pending the start of work on the new cableway), climbing up through forests and green meadows, up to an altitude of 1,100 metres. We are on the Salten Plateau, which boasts the largest larch forest in all of Europe. In front, the Dolomites in their splendour: from the Catinaccio group to the Sciliar.
Design and mood
Minimalist style in the logic of ‘less is more’. The architecture and spaces are designed to make nature the protagonist. The materials used inside reflect the outside: lime for the floors, clay for the walls, quarry porphyry stone, wood and beeswax.
Room style
Loggias overlooking the forest and Suites share large spaces (from 38sqm), terraces with reading and resting niches overlooking the trees.
The common areas
Less is more is the philosophy that permeates the hotel also in its sober, elegant and material common areas: a reception with a small bar and reading area. A loggia with a small bar and bistro welcomes guests on the 5th floor (street level). The other floors are divided between the spa and relaxation areas on the ground floor, up to the 7th floor with the Sky Pool.
Services
Spa area with holistic treatments (not only massages but also psychotherapy, health check-ups, osteopathy and more).Gym and Pilates/Yoga area. Infinity Sky Pool. Small Bistro for light lunches. Restaurant in the wing of the historic building for a la carte dinners and breakfast. Possibility to participate in excursions, horseback riding, mobility card included in the stay.
Technology experience
Camera technology present but basic (card holder). No motion sensor and no intelligent light management. The power is simply removed from the card holder. There is no TV in the room. The first time you connect to the hotel’s wi-fi, you can access a screen with essential information about your stay.
Eco-sustainability
Cuisine that follows the seasons (there is also a vegetable garden in the garden).Breakfast a la Carte to avoid waste. No use of plastics. Glass bottles for running water in the room. No disposable slippers. No service room notices that a tree is planted.
