“An eclectic urban refuge.

Where it is located

Centrally located between Yorkville and Koreatown, the hotel is situated in The Annex, from which it takes its name. The hotel is not exactly close to Toronto’s main attractions, but is nevertheless within and close to an area full of restaurants and clubs.

Design and mood

A perfect representation of the Urban Design Boutique Hotel, which can be understood from the very first arrival when one is greeted outside by a total black brick structure. Creativity, modern style, essentiality and a few vintage touches represent the mood in which the guest is immersed.

Room style

The rooms are generously sized, functional and bright thanks to the large windows. The soft colours of the room, from the white brick walls to the light wood of the furniture elements, make them cosy. What is striking is the long wooden shelf that runs along the entire glass wall, which becomes a comfortable multifunctional support point, and a sort of futon placed on a large platform, also made of wood. Completing the living room experience is a vintage touch with the record player and LP 33, which contrasts with the modernity of an iPad at the guests’ disposal.

The common areas

In the modern hospitality concept, there is no reception or lobby. The only communal space available is the bar and restaurant, which follows the typical style of this category of modern hotel.

Services

The Hotel has a single bar that, depending on the different times of day, becomes the place to have breakfast, eat some simple dishes, have an aperitif or simply relax after a long walk. Upon request and reservation, the Hotel provides guests with electric scooters to get around the city in a green way.

Technology experience

For an optimised guest experience, the hotel provides several technological services. First of all, entry into the room is by code to be typed on a special reader. Then, the presence of tablets inside the room available to the guest. Finally, the hotel does not have a reception: self check-in and self check-out allow guests to arrive and leave quickly and independently, through e-mail or text messages that will provide the access codes for the respective room. Little commitment to eco-sustainability, attributable only to the use of dispensers and not individual bottles in the bathrooms, or the presence of scooters for green mobility.

Eco-sustainability

Little commitment to eco-sustainability, which can only be attributed to the use of dispensers and not individual bottles in the toilets, or the presence of scooters for green mobility.

About Silvia Maggioni

Curious, stubborn, with a great photographic memory.I make the values of honesty and sincerity my own. I am a person who can be trusted. I grew up in a small town in Brianza, a little-known area north of Milan for many people. I live between Monza and Lecco, but I would like to have a Canadian passport, a country that I now feel is like a second home.
